Let’s just say that getting a massage is part of the job description. And, we’ve tried them all —Swedish, Hot Stone, Deep Tissue, you name it, we’ve tried it, and at some of the most luxurious and prestigious hotels around the globe. So when an invite landed in our inbox to try out a massage at the nations largest chain, we truly didn’t know what to expect.

We made our way to Massage Envy in Chicago’s hip West Loop Neighborhood (located at 808 W. Monroe St.), and we were welcomed with an incredibly nice and knowledgeable staff. First, we went through the massage checklist of everything we wanted, and what we didn’t. Then it was off for a tour of the exceptionally clean facility with a final destination to our massage room. There aren’t any plush robes and no stuffy waiting areas to slowly sip your tea, which is actually nice on those days when you just want to get in and get your massage and not make an entire day of it. Plus, you undress in your own private room. After having two babies back to back, I can really appreciate this.

If you were wondering how the massage went, here we go: it was one of the best massages we’ve ever had. My masseuse (If you’re going to the West Loop location, ask for Eunice!) had some great techniques during my one-hour Swedish Massage. What we couldn’t get over was the price. First time guests can get a customized massage for $49 which includes Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports Massage and Prenatal. If you become a member, for $59 a month you get any of those massages once a month or a Murad Healthy Skin Facial for $10 more, unused massage rollover, family add-on specials, additional massages or upgrades at the low membership rate, a chance to earn free massages or upgrades, retail discounts and more.
