Meet Kiersey Clemons. She’s one of those entertainers that is about to become next level famous. Her work as an actress is on the verge of big things as MTV’s new series “Eye Candy” is ready to hit screens in early 2015. And as for films, well, she’s making waves there, too. Recently wrapping the independent feature DOPE, produced by Forest Whitaker’s Significant Productions and Pharrell Williams, shows just how much range this young actress has. Aside from acting, Kiersey is also a talented musician recently collaborating on multiple tracks on DOPE with Grammy Award winning producer and artist Pharrell Williams. We caught up with her to learn about her first big break, the best advice she learned off the set from Forest and Pharrell and a look into her perfect day.

FACTIO MAGAZINE: Tell us about your first big break!
KIERSEY CLEMONS: My first big break was on Disney’s Shake It Up. On the first day of shooting, the Director, Shelly, jokingly said I would be fired if I didn’t hit my mark. I was so nervous but learned he was being sarcastic. I later went on to work with Shelly on a few episodes of Austin & Ally and loved working with him and Disney.

FM: You are about to be a series regular on MTV’s brand new series, “Eye Candy”. Tell us a bit about the part.
KC:
I play Sophia Preston in Eye Candy and own the nightclub “IRL”, where a lot of the show takes place. Eye Candy is about a serial killer stalking Lindy (Victoria Justice) who is my best friend. We are trying to balance having normal lives and dodging a serial killer at the same time.

FM: After wrapping independent feature, DOPE, produced by Forest Whitaker’s Significant Productions and Pharrell Williams, what would you say is the best advice you learned off the set from Forest and Pharrell?
KC:
The best advice Pharrell gave me was on our last day, in the recording studio, where he sat me down and told me I needed to sing the way I act. To me acting is second nature because of practice and acting classes. I don’t have to think about technique, I just feel. He told me to do the same with singing.

FM: Aside from acting, you also collaborated with Grammy Award winning producer and artist Pharrell Williams on multiple tracks for DOPE. What was that experience like?
KC:
My experience working with Pharrell was amazing because of all the great advice he gave to me. He believes in me and that meant a lot. I’ve been a fan of Pharrell since the third grade, so to get to work with him was a dream come true, as cliché as that sounds.

FM: We’ve heard you mentor teens across the country. What has been the biggest motivation for you through this process?
KC:
My sister and her friends are in high school and come to me for a lot of advice. I feel like I am always telling them to step back and figure out how they can move forward in a way that is best for them as individuals. Whether it is trouble with school, boys or friends. I feel like a lot of times, teens are made out to just be hormonal, when really they are just trying to figure themselves out. They deserve more compassion.

FM: What are a few of your favorite beauty tricks you picked up from make-up artists on set?
KC:
I learned to fill out my eyebrows from watching make-up artists. Your brows shape your face. They are the most important part.

FM: How would you describe your style?
KC:
Sexy – even if I don’t look it to you, I still feel it. Everyone should feel sexy. It doesn’t mean you have to show skin, you have to feel comfortable and confident in whatever it is you are wearing.

FM: Where is your favorite place to travel and why?
KC:
Somewhere I have never been.

FM: Describe your perfect day.
KC: My perfect day would be spent hiking and cooking for my family somewhere tropical.

FM: Where do you see yourself in five years?
KC:
I don’t know but wherever I am at and whatever I am doing, it’s where I want to be.
