The secrets to work/life balance never seem to go out of style, which got us thinking about how we curate our own feel-good moments in the middle of a hectic workweek. We’ve teamed up with Ice Mountain® Brand Sparkling Natural Spring Water to start the conversation on how we achieve true life balance.
“Me” Time
The importance of making time for yourself is crucial to getting through a tough week. Whether it’s a walk in the park, a stress-reducing yoga class or simply reading a great book, doing something for “you” helps regain energy to finish the week the right way.
Let Things Go
If you want to knock things off that major to do list, but are focusing on that one thing that is out of your control, you’ll stump yourself and self paralyze. Learn to move on, and keep moving on to the things you can do and come back to the things you couldn’t later—you will be 100 times more productive.
Be Grateful
As they say, you can’t be happy and “in the moment” if you aren’t grateful for the things you have and are currently accomplishing. So sit back, have gratitude and enjoy the journey. It’s as simple as that.
Get Silly
Nothing like breaking into laughter to help you get through a tough week. If you can learn to laugh at yourself and the things around you, you can make that mid-week meltdown so much easier to get through.
Eating Right
Making lifestyle changes such as eating clean will not only make you look great while you tackle your hectic week, but it will make you feel amazing. Even the smallest change makes a difference. One thing I’ve started to do is drink more water —while also giving up soda, which has made a tremendous change with my body.
Exercise
With eating right, adding exercise to your normal routine is pivotal for those feel-good moments. The hardest part of exercising is getting started, but once you make that commitment, you’ll never want to stop. Make a plan for which days you’ll hit the gym before the week starts, workout with a friend or try an exciting new class.
Travel Planning
Most people I know can’t jet off to faraway lands mid-week, but that doesn’t mean you can’t dream about it, does it? Look at photos from your favorite vacation to get memories to the forefront of your mind (the forest pic was taken this summer and that’s me below enjoying a hammock in Mexico), or better yet, plan a new trip. Nothing is better than planning for a new vacation —the perfect way to give you something to look forward to.
Get with Your Girlfriends
Have hump-day blues? Cure it with getting together with your girlfriends! Explore a fun new restaurant in a part of town you haven’t been before, opt for a beauty indulgence and get a mani/pedi or have them over for a girly movie night.
