On Wednesday, September 26th, I partnered with Glam Media and became an “American Express VIP Cardmember for the Day” for the 39th Ryder Cup.
I started the day by meeting up at The James Hotel in downtown Chicago where I met my fellow Glam bloggers —Afrobella, SkinnyRunner, TheAwesomer, FantabulouslyFrugal, along with Glam’s Editorial Director Bianca Posterli. From there we were whisked away by limo to the exclusive Medinah Country Club. As a fashion editor, my task was simple. Find a Ryder-approved ensemble to tour the grounds and experience all that American Express has to offer their VIP’s during The 2012 Ryder Cup. As I’m pregnant, I opted to save on my black top and pencil skirt which I got from Target’s Liz Lange Maternity Line and splurge on my white, draped sweater from Nordstrom, Oliver Peoples sunnies, Aldo tote bag (perfect for carting around my Nikon camera) and fuchsia suede flats by BCBG.
Once we arrived to Medinah, we immediately went to check out Ryder Cup Plaza where we found the PGA Learning Center presented by American Express. There, fans can visit the Golf Fitness Studio and learn key tips to improve their game with renowned trainer to the Pros, Sean Cochran, take part in a complimentary swing analysis, and view the Ryder Cup Museum.
But I have to say, my favorite part of the day was heading over to the American Express Hospitality Chalet. We enjoyed an amazing lunch of yummy salads, wrap sandwiches and a bit of to-die-for mac & cheese and a pretty amazing selection of ice cream. My blogger friends also got to enjoy what looked to be a pretty amazing open bar of Bloody Marys and Vodka Tonics. The views from the chalet were pretty great too. Some even spied Tiger Woods out on the practice field at hole 15, getting ready for this weekend’s tournament. If you’re an American Express Cardmember, we’d say your Ryder Cup experience will be top notch.
