CarolAnn Wachter

Midnight navy crepe de Chine silk with navy comet pattern
Rolling of Fluid, oil enamel on canvas, 72” x 60”,
collection of Cloudred multimedia NYC.

For many designers art and fashion go hand in hand. For CarolAnn Wachter, this rings more than true. Wachter is not only a painter, but has designed a line that reflects her works. Her paintings are brilliant displays of bold colors, strong shapes and swirls of imagination. Her clothes are a fairly equivalent counterpart. Her spring line is soft and feminine with fierce whispers of color and texture. Loosely draped with beach-inspired designs, they mirror the iridescent sweeps her paintbrushes leave on her works. Where her paintings seem to contrast with sharp lines, they are softened with shades of white to match the imagery in her clothes. Wachter, who still teaches art in Connecticut and New York, mastered her skills at Chicago’s own Art Institute and has pieces selling at Roslyn on Damen and her millinery line sells at Chicago’s Barneys. She has acquired quite the fan base in those who can recognize her highly artistic works, both on the canvas and the hanger.
