Day 5 of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week

Day 5 of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week has come and gone again and what a day it was!

Day 5 of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week has come and gone again and what a day it was!  The Tent hosted Carolina Herrera, who introduced a glamorous line-up of bold blacks and reds, followed up by the Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation, featuring the work of the seven 2010 Rising Design Star recipients. On the Promenade, Perry Ellis’s fall collection showcased its rich fabrics and dark colors setting quite the mood for the stylish men’s sportswear and evening attire. Also on the Promenade was Carlos Miele, who again introduced bold colors and patterns on silhouettes ranging from clingy to structured, featuring plunging necklines, jagged hemlines, and detailed stitching techniques down to the last touch. Jill Stuart was also featured, displaying a collection that worked to redefine sexy by combining chaos and class and Tracy Reese presented a rustic new fall collection, noted for its practicality. All of this, plus numerous celebrity spottings made it another successful day at the show! In the lobby, media sponsor Vevant, the new exclusive fashion website, offered complimentary massages as well as a look at some of the site’s new offerings in their lounge. Swarovski displayed their Heart Truth jewelry collection, benefiting women’s heart health research, and offered a dark chocolate treat to go with it.- Anna Elyse Lautmann
